Meet Brew Master Ben:
Welcome to "The Home Brew Blogger"! Hello there! I'm Finnian "Ben" O'Reilly, a lifelong Vermonter with a deep passion for homebrewing. Raised by Irish immigrants from County Galway, I grew up surrounded by traditions like Gaelic songs, peat fires, and the aroma of my mother's soda bread. Summers spent on my grandparents' farm in Galway introduced me to the art of brewing, where my grandfather, a skilled brewer, inspired me with tales of Irish brewing traditions and craftsmanship.

After studying biology at the University of Vermont, my curiosity and love for experimentation led me into the brewing industry. Starting at a local brewery, I worked my way up from the bottling line to become an assistant brewer. Despite enjoying the commercial brewing scene, I yearned for a simpler life and the freedom to create unique brews. This led me back to Vermont, where I purchased a farmhouse with ample space for my growing collection of brewing equipment.

Today, I'm deeply involved in the local homebrewing community, known for sharing my knowledge and latest brews, from classic American Pale Ales to innovative creations like a maple-infused brown ale using Vermont syrup. Each year, I host a popular summer event showcasing my award-winning homebrews, fostering a sense of community while honoring my Irish heritage.
